The definition for Marketing is the process of getting present or potential customers interested enough to buy your product or service over someone else's.
  Yes, Advertising and Marketing are similar in this point.  However, marketing is also a process that involves researching a great deal first.  Then comes the steps of promoting, selling, and distributing your products or services.

While making your Marketing plan, you would center your efforts in this order.  Find your optimal  product or service.  Begin to promote it and see where the true interest lies.  Distribute it where you know it is selling well.  Regulate your price for different markets if necessary.  The object is increasing sales, by attracting and retaining a growing base of satisfied customers, and adding to it. Your marketing plan can keep you focused on your goals, and can be adjusted to increase your marketing success and ROI.
