This Free Press Release Format will Help You Succeed
Free Press Release Format
The Free Advertising Agency can teach you how to write a
Press Release that gets attention. This is the best Press Release Format we
have found for you. This free press release sample shows you how to
compose an effective PR tool all by yourself.
A Release is just like a news story. The sentences and paragraphs
are kept short, about three or four lines per paragraph.
There is no set minimum, but on average a good press release contains about
250 words. This is a good average, and if it is shorter than that, it could
send a message that Press Release is not newsworthy. This is not what you
want an Editor to think right from the start.
Your most important items to include in this press release format are your
contact information. It will be repeated several times in your Press
Release. Make sure this is correct. Some do not add an email for
anti-spam purposes. However, there must be a add in form at the site, or
you will lose 90% of your new contact possibilities.
The release information at the top will read ‘FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE’ or ‘TO
BE RELEASED JANUARY 1, 2009’. However, many times setting dates may lower
the probability of your getting media exposure, as the media would need to work
around your timeline.

Headline
The most crucial part of a successful press release is the headline. Editors
receive thousands of PR’s each day. If your headline is lifeless and
uninteresting, chances are great your press release will get passed over. What
Editor could pass up a headline like, “World's Most Famous Atheist Accepts
Existence of God, Cites Modern Science", that entices you to
click to read more.
A Headline is always in Title case. This means that you would capitalize every word except for prepositions, and articles of three words or less-as above. Ideally it is between 80-125 characters, and never more than 170 characters. It does not use a period to end the sentence.
What are common headlines? Newly released statistics are common, an opening revelation of sorts (as above), a new and innovative product, service, or business that is making a difference, or a statement revealing fresh news on a highly demanded topic.
Lead Paragraph Your lead paragraph is the next most important part of your PR. It must be powerful, interesting, and attract the attention and the desire to read more. This is not to be phrased like an advertisement or sales pitch. It is where you tell the readers the benefit of reading more and using your business. Sub-Headlines Supplement your attention grabbing headline with sub-headlines. This will make your PR easier to follow, so a more pleasurable read. Body Text This portion of the text should be a few paragraphs long and tell your story in a concise manner. You will answer who, what, when, where, why and how. You must at this point convince the editor that your information is valuable to his readers. It can include quotes from key staff, customers, or subject matter experts. This is a great place to add details which can be about something unusual or controversial. It can also expound on a prominent person, place or thing. About Your Company This is one paragraph long, and provides brief information and details about your product, company or organization. You may also add how long you have been in business, who owns the company, how many employees you have, how many branches and briefly their location. You may the number of branches.
